All that is gold does not glitter...

I had that thought
because we had a "Go Bag"
(fire preparedness emergency to go bag)
STOLEN!
We just found out yesterday.
I had asked my husband to get it
so I could put the important documents
and a not so solid gold, old bracelet into a safe deposit box
(the only piece of jewelry I had with any value
other than the small,  in-expensive
wedding ring I have on my finger
and both have more sentimental value
than monetary value).
Yes.
We were dumb to keep it in that bag for so long
in the back of our car
that we vigilantly locked
(but possibly didn't lock that one time).
I'm heart broken
and worried sick
about identity theft
because they also took
our titles to three cars,
a scooter, and motorcycle,
immunization cards,
birth certificates and a marriage license.
Yes.
All replaceable
(but not easily nor cheaply)
EXCEPT for that sweet, gold-plated bracelet
given with some sacrifice to a great-grandmother
in 1911 by her adoring, loving and thoughtful husband.

Needless to say, I'm not very happy today.

The pictures are proof of reasons to be happy
so I think I'll look at them some more!

Just a few more things!

I bought myself some beautiful roses! Just because!

Five (3/4 kids) of us went out to eat the other night.

My favorite pizza place is Pizzeria 712! So great!

This day was so beautiful
and as I was walking down the street
I just HAD to capture it.
There are yellow and orange leaves on some trees
high up in the mountains.
I know it will soon come down to us
and with it; Autumn.
I have LOVED Summer
and want to hold onto it!

Here are some other things I loved:
This is such a touching story.
And so is this one!
Here is another!
There are so many horrible things going on in the world
it is heartwarming to hear of people doing such good things!
Here is something great, along the same lines!
Here are just some pretty things to look at:
And this one too.

Here's to having a pretty great weekend!
Cheers!

We did it!

Sheyla loves putting Ikea things together!

Davis graduated just a few months ago
and wont be going to school anytime soon
so we are trying to come up with things for us to do together
and things for Davis to do on his own.
We are in the process of trying to find him a part time job
(we dropped off resumes and talked with managers
and possibly have an interview soon)
but he can only work a few hours a week
and there's lots of hours left in a day.
We frequently go to different antique and vintage stores.
Not that THAT is the only requirement to having ones own booth!
It seemed like a perfectly realistic, reasonable
and somewhat creative experiment for us to try!
 After much thought
(months and months worth)
 and not enough planning,
we put together our booth today.
What was I thinking?!
It seemed like a lot more stuff at home.
We got the smallest and cheapest booth possible
and it was pay for two months get one month free
so it made it easier for us to make the final decision.
This should be good for at least 5 or so finished projects.
I haven't been keeping track of those lately anyway!

Even though, it seemed like a much better idea yesterday,
AND
even though, it seems like a much more daunting task today:

BRING IT ON!

How much is that Doggie in the window?

Sometimes I can get myself into trouble.
We just went to look at a local pet shop.
That silly little mixed pug stole my heart
with his crossed eyed glances
and sweet tiny black nose.
Davis would laugh every time I showed him that picture.

No, we didn't get him
but I'm nearly tempted!
Davis loved those adorable Yorkies.

Here are some other things I loved this week:
Don't you love it too?
Love these quotes. Here and here.
Love so much of this.
And this and this.

Last Day in Yellowstone!

Our last day in Yellowstone was also my birthday!
It was a great day to see beautiful Yellowstone
(I also didn't have to clean or cook)!
We went to Cafe Madriz for dinner
in West Yellowstone.
It was amazing, yummy and did I say I didn't have to cook!

Virginia City and Nevada City. Montana.

Yesterday, we drove to Virginia City, Montona
and took a little mini train ride to Nevada City, Montana.
There was a gold rush here in 1863.
Right up Davis's alley!
It turned out to be different
than what Davis thought it was going to be
and with less gold.
It was quaint and charming.
We ate lunch at a small adorable bakery.
Next time we would bring Davis's gold equipment
and try our hand at gold panning in the river.

By the way.
Happy Birthday to me!

Some More of Yellowstone!

This canyon, in real life, looks like a painting.
Oh, I love it so!
This is where the Buffalo roam!

 Those are the Sheepeater's Cliffs.
My heart breaks for those Sheepeaters!
Those cliffs are spectacular and so fascinating!
My heart beats for that handsome man by the cliffs!
 Beauty is everywhere.
Too bad those 2/4 kids don't want to see EVERYTHING!
They are content to wait in the car
(some of the time)!
They do not appreciate what they are missing!
I GASPED when we drove by this lake!
I LOVED it the first time I saw it years ago!
I LOVED it this time too!
And yes, those 2/4 kids wouldn't get out of the car
for this either!
Ugghhhh!
 Oh, those sweet giant Buffalo!

Don't look at my neck.
I feel bad about MY neck!
Do look at how much fun we look like we are having.
Well.
Jeff doesn't look like he's having much fun here
but that's just because he is a silly silly man
and he likes to make silly silly faces!
He is the best sport and the best travel companion.
I don't feel so bad about him!

Yellowstone!

That's an American Bald Eagle yonder on that bare tree!
 See it's true!
This is only my second time in Yellowstone.
I absolutely adore it!
We are trying to see much
but we are also trying to be wise
(we have two (2/4) older kids who need more rest
than the average older kid).
Here are only a few photos of our trip.
I will share more tomorrow!
