I'm still kicking!

Today has been the longest I've sat
since my surgery
and now I'm ready to go lay down again.
It's a long six weeks.
These two always bring a smile to my face
(of course all my family does too).
I'm off to bed!

Life is What Happens When You Make Other Plans...

I spy...

Back at the mountain home:
White may not be the best color of choice
for a couch in a house full of pets
(I do love the shape).
I am loving the quilt I dyed.
Things are starting to get into place
with needed help.
Just in time for next week.
I am having a hysterectomy.
Doesn't that sound like fun?
Yesterday I had a colonoscopy
in preparation for the big day
(no problems, thank you very much)!
My Dear Husband and Bearded Prospector Son
were in the room waiting for me to wake up after the procedure.
My Dear Husband Farted.
He blamed it on me.
My Dear Son spoke up
and said,
"No, it was you Dad.
I'll stand up and yell
at the top of my voice
and say,
My Dad farted and NOT my Mom!"
It's nice to know he has my back.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!

Here is a great video about great Fathers.
I've been lucky to have a great Father,
lucky that the Father of my children is so great
and lucky the Fathers of my grandchildren are so great too
(however, they make me think
of one of my most favorite quotes--
which happens to be from Harry Potter--
It is our Choices that show
what we truly are,
far more than our Abilities.).
I LOVE Emile Sande's album.
Have you heard it?
Dear Bearded Prospector Son loves this song.
Just a lot of fun house stalking
 And some more here.

Here's to having more music, more laughter,
more love, and more greatness in life!

Happy Birthday Beautiful New Momma!

What a difference a year makes!
This time next year you will be old hat
living it up as a med student wife
in the Caribbean!
Thank you for helping me the last few days.
Hope all your birthday wishes come true!

Happy Happy BIrthday! Better Late than never (but we actually did celebrate her birthday).

 Before
After

This is what our May birthday girl did with her birthday money.
Happy Happy Birthday!
May this year be filled with more new "afters"
that make you happy!

12 Weeks Old!

Little Mister was blessed by his father on Sunday.
It was the best church meeting I've been to in a long time.
It helped that my husband, all my kids and their spouses,
and of course my two grandchildren were there too.

Little Mister is blooming with personality
and sweetness too.
LOVE that little man!

Life Lately.

This has been one of the most anxiety producing weeks!
Luckily, another skin biopsy came back benign.
But I can't completely relax because
the doctor wants to talk to me about
some other test results on Monday
when I go in for a different biopsy.
There was an ambulance ride/ER visits for our birthday girl
and another serious diagnosis that she is dealing with.
A new job venture that Jeff is jumping into with
all the uncertainties and the exciting possibilities
that come with starting a new business.
Changes in medications and all that implies
for our 6 foot 3 inch boy of ours.
Life can be such a challenge.
Life is fragile.
Life can be so beautiful too.
I don't want to miss a thing!

I'll get to my point, eventually....

There should be a song about one sock on and one sock off.
I know there is a saying about Jon and his shoe.
Well, Jeff and his sock tried to take a nap
but the animals love him so much
they had to keep him company.
Diddle Diddle Dumpling
One Socked Jeff.

Sometimes, I have the most convuluted ways to go about things
but they make perfect sense to me in my head.
I had my eye on a simple and beautiful indigo quilt at Target
but it was too much money
(especially since I bought a big simple white quilt for our bed).
In that first picture at the foot of the bed
is a favorite old white quilt but it is too small
to fit and cover enough of the bed to my liking.
So I found some fabric dye for $4.
Smaller bottles are less.
I decided I'd dye the blanket.
And so I did.

It'll do.
