I once said that I didn't like all matching things in a house.
Yet, I am painting quite a few things this lovely parchment white.
First. It's not the best furniture.
Second. The furniture didn't match to begin with.
Third. I was tired of black or dark furniture.
Fourth. There is so much wood in this house already.
Fifth. I wanted to lighten things up.
And it did.
I like it.
Even if several things match.

More Bryce Canyon.
Some times it was cold.
But it didn't stop us.
Jeff and the two kids had fun trying to start an avalanche.
No body was harmed.
No people below us.
The snowballs didn't get larger than a bowling ball.
They sure had fun.
Silly kids.
It sure was beautiful!
Did you know those columns of rock are called Hoodoos.
What a great name!

Spring Break and Bryce Canyon.
Ok. It's not Hawaii or Kauai.
Last week was Spring break. All week.
We left on Wednesday and in a few hours made it to Bryce Canyon.
Still a lot of snow but it is Spectacular!
I am so grateful not to be working out of the home right now.
For many years I did and for many years of Spring break we did not much of anything for trips.
Of course, I tried to make everyday fun and we sometimes had adventures close by.
And sometimes we just hung around the house or the kids played with friends.
Some times the kids were happy and some times they weren't.
Jeff tried to be a good sport the whole time.
Thank goodness for him!
I missed the married kids terribly.
It's hard to believe so much time has gone by.
No more four kids all together: fighting, playing, laughing.
I did think about future trips with grandchildren (and their parents) and it made me smile.
Life goes on and so do we.

Dreams.
I am dreaming about Kauai.
We went a few years ago.
It really is like the fantasy of Hawaii I had while growing up.
All this snow and cold makes me yearn for warmer weather and Kauai will do.

More felt!
Look what I found at DI.
The skirt and pink jacket came together. The sweater has a small stain.
They all are 100% wool.
I'm excited to make something out of pink wool felt.
If only I had the time.

I spy some elk.
One of the amazing things about living where we do is the wildlife.
Last night, as we were eating dinner I gasped loudly and exclaimed, "look at the elk!"
This is right below our house in a little valley. I don't have the best camera and this is using whatever zoom I have on the camera.
There was about 50 elk.
It was amazing because they were first walking up this little valley, almost, in a single line.
Then, they finally settled in one area and most of them were on the ground, majestically looking around.
How cool is that!
