Salem Pond.

I met Davis at Salem Pond.
I then took him to get his fishing license
and a minnow trap
so he can catch craw fish.
He is now obsessed with crawfish.
He didn't catch any
but look how beautiful
the Pond is.

Papi-poo.

3 1/2 weeks old.
Still trying to figure out a name.

Pippin
from" Lord of the Rings"
may work.
Papa
is Frodo
and we have been calling him
Puppy.

Pippin
the Papi-poo
Puppy.

It'll do.

Probably.

HummingBee Designs

Britni is talented in so many ways.
One of the many ways is this:
She makes up her own patterns for the cutest wallets.
And she makes those cute wallets herself
(that's two ways).
She has an etsy shop too.

By the way:
Her cute husband graduates this Friday.
She is going to go to school this summer and next year
then off to Chiropractor school they go.

The dogs love Rian so much.

Rian's little lady bug book.

Rian with the almost 3 week old puppy.

All the dogs had to check out the action.

Adventures with Davis-Spring Break-Payson Canyon

Davis was so excited to go gold panning.

No snow at the river.

Davis wanted to get the perfect spot.

He moved several times.

Bare feet. No gold but happy. Priceless.

Just so you know...

1. I made a few flowers.
I want to make some more
and I want to make other things too.
I want to be more creative
but it's not always easy
or convenient.

2. I emptied a shelf in an old dresser
and filled a garbage bag.
It was heavy.
Boy, that felt good.

3. Spring break is this week.
I wish we could go somewhere fun.
It will have to be somewhere close
(we may go treasure hunting
even if it's in our own back yard).
Husband only has so many vacation days
and this summer he will be taking a week
to go with our youngest son for a scout camp out.
Then there is Christmas.
Priorities
aren't always easy.

4.  I know that I am not perfect.
I've never met a perfect person.
Ever.
"Assert your right to make a few mistakes.
If people can't accept your imperfections,
that's their fault."
~Dr. David M. Burns
I try to do better every day
and every day I come up short.
There's always tomorrow.

5. I had a mammogram a week and a half ago.
I am 45, after all.
This morning, I had an ultrasound to check
a new lump and a couple of swollen lymph nodes.
Luckily,
the doctor said they all look good
and just come back in a year
for a routine mammogram.
What a relief
of some of the anxiety I feel.
Yes.
I have issues.
Who doesn't have some thing
or things
they have going on?

"This is my wish for you:
Comfort on difficult days,
smiles when sadness intrudes,
rainbows to follow the clouds,
laughter to kiss your lips,
sunsets to warm your heart,
hugs when spirits sag,
beauty for your eyes to see,
friendships to brighten your being,
faith so that you can believe,
confidence for when you doubt,
courage to know yourself,
patience to accept the truth,
Love to complete your life."

I mean that for everyone.

Well.
Maybe not Gaddafi
(you belong in prison)
or murderers
or other very evil people.

I really do wish the best for you.

Really.

Soul Surfer. A great movie.

I loved this movie.
Davis did not want to go.
If he had the choice he would probably stay home most of the time except to go gold panning.
He doesn't like many movies either.
He has a hard time staying for all of a movie.
There are not many movies he can sit for the whole thing but this was one of the few movies that he was glued to his seat through out the whole movie.
He liked it!

I loved this movie for many reasons:
1. It is based on a real live story.
2. The family fought hard to keep their faith in Jesus Christ in the movie.
3. Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid are great in this but even better is that they had wrinkles and they could move all of their face. I don't know about you but I get so tired of seeing actors or singers look more than perfect and it bugs me when I can't see their face especially their eyebrows move.
I LOVE those two even more.
I loved how they portrayed a real family.
4. I love the whole story. I love how they put it together in the movie. It was fun, touching and beautifully done.
5. The actress AnnaSophia Robb played the main character. She did a great job! We LOVED her in "Because of Winn Dixie".
6. Being able to see Kauai and Maui in this movie. LOVED that part!

Side note:
I love how clean and wholesome this movie is (there are lots of bikinis however...but this is a surfing movie, after all), but in one scene the two girls are looking at new bathing suits and one holds up a one piece and the other said, "are you 100 years old"....or something like that.....you don't need to be 100 years old to try to be more modest in your swim wear. The main character did make fun of how small a bikini was by comparing it to a pirate eye patch. Funny.

This is a very touching movie and made me cry several times. It also made me smile and laugh.
I LOVE movies like this.

10 days old.

We are still trying out names.
Jimmer?
Harry?
Potter?
(The boy who lived. Black hair. Mark on forehead.)
Any way you call him,
call him cute.

Can I just say how much I love this picture.
I took only one shot.
It wasn't planned.
I asked my daughter to hold the puppy.
So she did.
Right there and then
(well a few steps away from the box).
Perfect.

Now if you know how to take photographs
don't tell me what I did wrong
because I love it just the way it is.

Change. Again.

Before.
After.

I was thinking that this table was way too shiny and white.
Other than buying a new table or painting again
I was thinking about what I could do to make it better.
For free.
I still love this table.
16 years of memories and use
(not quite ready to splurge for a new one).
I had thoughts of sandpaper swirling about my head.
Friday was a beautiful day.
Warm and sunny.
A perfect day to take this table outside.
I got out our sander and several small sheets of sandpaper later,
this is what I came up with.
Not a ton different.
In fact.
That first picture is so cute with those two dogs
(and by the way, this picture was featured in a blog I follow here ,
how fun is that!)
that you may not even be able to tell the difference.
Or even agree that this one is better.
But I like it.
Not so perfect.
It'll do.

And remember I moved the white wicker chair here
(I couldn't find my own post about this move
so here is the picture).

Chris Medina - What Are Words

This guy is amazing.
We love watching American Idol and loved this guy from the start.
He not only has a sweet soulful sound but he is an incredible example of loving someone unconditionally.
I love this song!

Snow day.

Yesterday we woke up to a thick blanket of snow.
Oh Spring, you tease and mock me so.
We watched and listened to conference.
All the kids came.
Loved everything except the cold cold snow.
