Life Lately.

This has been one of the most anxiety producing weeks!
Luckily, another skin biopsy came back benign.
But I can't completely relax because
the doctor wants to talk to me about
some other test results on Monday
when I go in for a different biopsy.
There was an ambulance ride/ER visits for our birthday girl
and another serious diagnosis that she is dealing with.
A new job venture that Jeff is jumping into with
all the uncertainties and the exciting possibilities
that come with starting a new business.
Changes in medications and all that implies
for our 6 foot 3 inch boy of ours.
Life can be such a challenge.
Life is fragile.
Life can be so beautiful too.
I don't want to miss a thing!

I'll get to my point, eventually....

There should be a song about one sock on and one sock off.
I know there is a saying about Jon and his shoe.
Well, Jeff and his sock tried to take a nap
but the animals love him so much
they had to keep him company.
Diddle Diddle Dumpling
One Socked Jeff.

Sometimes, I have the most convuluted ways to go about things
but they make perfect sense to me in my head.
I had my eye on a simple and beautiful indigo quilt at Target
but it was too much money
(especially since I bought a big simple white quilt for our bed).
In that first picture at the foot of the bed
is a favorite old white quilt but it is too small
to fit and cover enough of the bed to my liking.
So I found some fabric dye for $4.
Smaller bottles are less.
I decided I'd dye the blanket.
And so I did.

It'll do.

Happy Happy Friday!

I also believe in funkiness.
Without dead animals on walls
and booze.
I like this funky wall/shelf/desk.
Loveliness in Sweden.
Beautiful and touching video of

10 Weeks old!

Those little eyebrows get me every time!

I think Mama could market that milk of hers! Look at those cheeks!

How lucky am I that I got to go babysitting
while Mama went to the dentist!
That sweet little Mister melts my heart!
Poor Mama.
She got two cavities filled and a root canal
while the time flew for me
as I played, sang, fed and loved that little man.
I think I got the better end of the deal!

I so LOVE this painting that little Miss Sunshine
painted for me for Mother's Day
(I imagine she had a little help)!

New Chalkboard Wall Art

I LOVE my "studio'! I have so much fun in there!
I recently changed a few things.

Last week when I went to The Beehive Bazaar I got a beautiful drawing from the very talented Caitlin Connolly (I also got that pillow). She really is amazing. Really, look at her website. Breathtaking beautiful art! I also got to meet her! She was so very nice. And I was so very much a dork.
I drew something new on the chalkboard wall and put that drawing in a cheap frame and put it on the wall.
It'll do.

Musical Chairs Turns into Musical Blankets!

I still love this chair that I got a while ago but I originally thought I was going to put it in the tv room downstairs and I didn't at first but something wasn't quite right about the whole thing so I recently put it downstairs where it belongs (I will post pictures in the future) and because I didn't want to buy a new chair I left it without a chair for a while and the whole thing had a dominoes effect and here we GO!
How's that for a real long run on sentence!
This picture shows one of the blankets I got for our room after I painted it a bluish color, some time ago (with adorable baby Momo).
I was trying to keep Jeff in mind so he liked the room but I didn't count on the fact that it was so full of primary colors that it would drive me crazy.
So on Saturday, I went to Target to buy a white blanket (same brand as the previous blankets--I liked the size of those blankets). I just really really love a white bed (and I've since added an old blanket for the end of the bed for those little dogs of ours).
I had bought a pink ombre pillow from The Beehive Bazaar on Thursday (thinking I was going to put it someplace else but I LOVE it in here). And blue walls = a pink ombre pillow.
Well, at Target (on Saturday) I got that little love pillow too.
And I got this pretty white pillow at Target too.
I brought up this chair from my "studio" and I LOVE the WHOLE thing now!

And I didn't want to waste perfectly good blankets so I put them down stairs in Davis's room.
He LOVES red. Both blankets are on his bed now and we can switch them when the mood strikes!

I didn't spend a ton of money on my room and I didn't spend any money in Davis's room!

Mother's Day.

I had one of the best Mother's Day ever on Sunday.
I haven't always liked Mother's Day for so many reasons.
I probably need to see a therapist for it.
Not really
because it all doesn't matter.
I had no expectations except that it was going to be a nice day
(I didn't even know when Jeff would be home from a trip).
I already picked my presents out
and even a few more.
Which was the most brilliant thing ever!
I had a great time picking out fun presents
for the sweet Moms in my life.
I also received the most thoughtful gifts from my children
(and spouses---where applicable).
I got to see each of my own wonderful children,
their (well just the two that are married) own lovely spouses,
and my two very own amazing grandchildren
(well, I do share them)
who, by the way, make me feel like
they are such special gifts to me
(yeah, I know they are not just mine
but I feel they are an amazing gift in my life)!
I absolutely LOVE each and every one of my children
and even though I feel inadequate always.
It's not all up to me.
Thank you dear Jeff
(and yes, I know it's not all up to the both of us either
which comforts me to no end)
for making my life have more meaning
than I ever could by myself.
Thank you for helping me every step of the way
and helping me with this thing,
called LOVE and LIFE.
I couldn't be any kind of Mother without you.

Oh, that Nat the Fat Rat (she's the tiniest thing really)
she is such a good writer, the cutest person,
and loves her little family.
Read here for an adorable and heart warming post.

Some more pictures from this week.

Here are some other things I loved this week:

A Special Mother's Day tribute that will make you smile.
Somethings are beautiful.
Here too and here.
A part of me MUST be Scandinavian.
Some day I WILL make some paper flowers.
