Family Reunion!

My dad, two older sisters, me, and silly Jeff: making faces.

That's Pippen!
Here are just a few photos that our Britni
took from the family reunion on Saturday.
She took a lot of great photos!
It was a great day!

Hold on to your knickers!

 I knew I found a hidden treasure!
They originally asked for $300, $200,
then $100 and today, $75!
We brought it home and I cleaned it up.
The details are so beautiful!
There is little amber mosaic glass
at the base of that mirror.
We moved it down to my studio.

There are so many amazing things about it.
It's not perfect but that makes it even better!
 So great!

Rooftop Concert!

We had daughter #1 and the one and only daughter-in-law with us.
We had Davis but he gladly went with son and grand-daughter
(it would have been too hard for him to be there
with all the noise and people).
We were so happy to go!
It started with a Rap Band
and we aren't so crazy about rap.
They WERE entertaining!
The ever talented and adorable writer CJane
performed too!

They later had a mish-mosh of lots of different band members
singing Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers!
So great!
Love Ryan Innes
(we saw and heard him at Mindy Gledhill's concert in December
and she sang too,
AND she just had a baby not long ago
and looks amazing
check her out here and here).
Yes. That last song was on SYTYCD!
I also made BFF's with Ryan's mother.
No big deal.
Also, The lead singer for the Fictionist sang too!
So great!

Including 3/4 of the amazing band Neon Trees!
That's Tyler Glenn on that stage!
Did you hear that?!
NEON TREES!

Love them!

We had so much FUN!

That was a pretty great day!

I LOVE the Provo City 4th of July Parade!
Not everyone shares in my enthusiasm.

We didn't make it through the whole thing
but enough of it to make me happy.
We later went to see the Spider Man movie
which made the two kids happy.
We later went to the cute apartment of one of my nieces for a 4th of July shin-dig.
They provided hot dogs and we brought some more
and a tasty spinach/mushroom salad.
Most everyone brought something to share!
She had lots of friends and family.
Including most of our own.
 Rian loved the broom!
Such a silly girl!
 What a beautiful Day!
My niece made an adorable festive cake!
She knows how to throw a party!
She also put boiling water in a cooler with corn-on-the-cob
and let it sit for a while.
It was so yummy!
She lives down the street from the Stadium of Fire
so we got to hear and see much from the show!
Loved the fire works
(except it caused some mild seizures
for daughter #1).
We need to keep that in mind next time!
We later made it back at home
where everyone crashed into their beds!
That was a pretty great day!

How to plan for a fire and think about loosing everything.

Last week, some of the people in our little town were evacuated
because of a fire that was in the mouth of a little canyon,
in a very small field in between heavily wooded areas.
It burned about two acres.
It has scared everyone.
It is only a couple miles away from our home
but the mountain
is full of scrub oak.
Everyone should have been evacuated.
Thankfully the firefighters got the fire out
and the city is working out the kinks.
There are about 10 fires going on in the state of Utah.
There have been fires in Idaho and Colorado too.
Last night we packed up our Go Bags.
We made our plans of what we would take
from the house if we only had 5 minutes to grab our stuff and go.
There is going to be a mock fire evacuation in less than two weeks.
I hope we never have to see if it works.
Sunday night they put out four fires close to this one.
Some crazy/evil person is trying to set our mountain on fire
(at least three different times in the last week).
The most terrifying thing about it is
that someone would deliberately put so many people at risk.
Let alone the property damage it could cause.
We always knew there was a fire risk
about where we live
but we didn't worry too much about it.
We've never been more scared
and we've never been more prepared.

Update:
They caught the guy that was setting the fires!
He is an 18 year old volunteer firefighter of the next town over.

Little Miss Sunshine Makes Me Smile!

 This picture makes me laugh!
She could see herself
and I said smile!
So, silly!
 Those dogs absolutely adore her.
Even if she doesn't have food.
