Sweet Handmade Paper Snow Flakes.

A couple of years ago, Davis learned how to make paper snow flakes.
Last year he gave some away as gifts and wanted to sell them.
One of our friends (that he gave one to) called yesterday wanting Davis to make six snowflakes by Wednesday morning. Can he do it?
Well, she was paying and that made him excited. But we waited too long to go to the scrapbooking store for some nice Christmas paper. So we ended up going to Walmart to no avail. They didn't have ANY square Christmas scrapbooking paper. On the way home we stopped by Joanne's. We were in luck, they had a large pack on SALE. But my excitement soon faded.
Davis has been sick for a week and went to school finally during the day. By the time he finished his FIRST snowflake he was coughing more and more and was very tired.  Mom to the rescue.
I made two more snowflakes before I realized that the paper was just too thin. I tried to double the paper. It worked. But it meant that I was only able to make three more double snowflakes by 1:30 am! I went to bed anyway. After trying to wake Davis this morning at 6:20 and not succeeding (he needs at least one more day home from school). I finished three more double paper snowflakes this morning.
Our friend is going to pick them up soon (that's why they are sitting on the couch). I think they turned out well. I sure hope she likes them because I only got 4 hours of sleep!
I think I'll go take a nap!
She wants Davis to make 36 by the 12th. This time, HE is making them AND we are buying better paper!

They are soooo cute! What? why no tutorial? are we just supposed to guess how to make them? ;)
I hope Davis feels better soon, and you are rested now.

I will try my hand at a tutorial tomorrow. I've never done one and will enlist the help of my daughter. The snowflakes are not that complicated. Repetitious, yes. Easy, yes. Beautiful, yes!
